In 1984 he took what he learned from David Wolper and began working in Television. After befriending Karl Engemann and learning of a "train wreck" in the making he was asked to take over responsibility for Marie Osmond's first solo role in a Christmas Special. Michael was asked by Karl who was lamenting in a restaurant frequented by Karl which Bloom owned. Bloom and Engemann became fast friends more than a year before however they never discussed their work. When Bloom learned of the stressful situation, which was the result of the CBS hired EP over indulging in spirits known for night-time entertainment, Marie knew she couldn't work with the man. Bloom was invited to the studio to meet Marie and they hit it off instantly. Bloom took over the show, wrote and directed a couple of new comedy skits, and Marie, Karl and the rest were thrilled. Sally Struthers, Kirk Cameron, and Lee Greenwood also appeared and Bloom made everyone feel like they were given a do-over. As a result of his actions, Marie's manager at William Morris, Dick Howard quickly asked Bloom if he could represent him. He has since been involved in many networks and syndicated Christmas and comedy specials while continuing his unprecedented successful track record in Branding and creating win-win scenarios for sponsors and broadcasters, never losing money on a project he was responsible for. Bloom owns Solaris Entertainment and Media, (formerly, Special Interest Productions) Solaris is comprised of several entities all driven and directed by Bloom. They are a first-rate distribution company placing digital media worldwide wherever it is sold and is a primary content supplier to iTunes and Sony. They are an official Sony Indie Label representing some of the biggest regarding artists in music. They do all of their post-production work with both music and video in house and they create more than 15 music videos per year for major artists. Michael continues to develop original television program concepts and pilots. His first and last love remains to be music, writing and producing artists from all genres and styles. , His many broadcast production credits as Producer, Director, or Writer include 4 Osmond Christmas specials most recently, Donny And Marie Live From Las Vegas, Nashville Unplugged, The Story Behind The Song, and just added Bus Stops to his original program list due in early 2018.
