Composer, songwriter ("Till the End of Time"), author and comedian, educated at the Foster School and Goodrich School in Chicago, Illinois. He was a vaudeville comedian, and then moved to musical comedies. He was a restaurateur for a time, then returned to the stage. In Mexico, he owned and operated a tourist hotel in Cuernavaca, and wrote songs for night club revues. Joining ASCAP in 1941, his chief musical collaborators included Al Piantadosi and Abner Silver. His other popular-song composiions include "The Curse of an Aching Heart", "My Spanish Rose", "There Must Be a Reason", "Skate With Me", "When the Rains Come in Samoa", "Cuernavaca Sunset", "One Moment, Please Go Slowly", "Tomorrow and Tomorrow" and "You're More Than Heaven to Me".
