Whether acting in feature films such as "Don Quixote" (opposite Horatio Sanz, directed by James Franco) or writing, producing, directing and starring in his own award-winning productions; "The Mission" (Lester Speight) and "Liberating H", Humberto Meza has the penchant for dramatic supporting roles portraying upstanding, morally high-grounded characters (public officials, detectives) or the affable dad. Humberto rooted his theatrical training in Los Angeles at the 'Van Mar Academy of Motion Picture & TV Acting'', became unshakably confident as an actor while studying at 'The Acting Center' in Sherman Oaks and further solidified himself as master of emotion by working one-on-one with acting coach, Dee Wallace. More than training alone has made Humberto truly a magnetic character actor on screen. His extraordinary backstory of challenging life experiences brings a special nuance and backbone to the characters he breathes life into. Born and later diagnosed with one of the last known cases of Polio in the Americas, Humberto beat back the odds of this devastating disease, thriving physically to become a well-respected athlete in his high school years as a wrestler for the state of California. Furthermore, having lost his wife in a tragic auto accident, Humberto suddenly found himself as a single father of four. Successfully raising his children alone has given him the strength and courage to tackle anything that comes his way head-on. Outside of acting in, writing and producing film projects, Humberto is also an accomplished author. His new book Parenting Like a Rockstar helps struggling single parents live a healthy, balanced life while juggling the chaos of kids. Humberto also enjoys a competitive game of volleyball with family and friends, collecting old coins and if you are lucky enough to meet him, ask him for his DJ intro as he was once an on-air personality for commercial radio throughout Northern California.
