Mark Stanoch is an Emmy award-winning documentary producer, writer and director. His credits include for CBS News (60 Minutes), ABC News (20/20), Channel 4 UK and CTV Canada. His documentaries include The Greatest Murder Story Never Told (Ch.4 UK, 1998), Burning Questions (CBS News Productions, 2002), I Haven't Heard of Me Either (2019) and The 'American Taliban' (2019). His series of reports and the documentary 'Burning Questions,' investigated the 1970 Tucson Pioneer Hotel Fire. And was instrumental in the release of Louis Taylor, who had served more than 40 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Stanoch's award-winning documentary, 'The Greatest Murder Story Never Told,' chronicled a murderous 1970s crime spree, four writer's fascination with the story, and the execution Douglas Gretzler. His exclusive reports exposed the plight of migrant workers being forced to work in dangerous and evacuated areas during the 2007 California wildfires. Stanoch also produced a range of stories including the illegal hiring practices of felons by the US border patrol, the longest prison siege in US history, an exclusive profile of children in an Arizona prison, the sex trafficking of two teenagers, and the devastating 2015 Oakland warehouse fires. During his network career, Stanoch conducted high profile interviews with Jodi Arias, Ricky Wassenar, Hans Reiser, and 10-year old Benjamin Hilburn, an New Mexican boy charged with first-degree murder of his father. Honors include CINE Golden Eagle Awards, San Francisco International Film Festival Golden Gate Award, and many other national producing awards.
