Also in 1968, Boyd traveled with Donovan, her sister Pattie, The Beatles, sisters Mia Farrow and Prudence Farrow, Mike Love and other friends, to Rishikesh, India, to attend a training session in Transcendental Meditation held by 'Maharishi Mahesh Yogi'. She also worked at the Apple Boutique in London. She attended UCLA in the late 1980s, earned a PhD in psychology, and became a clinical consultant and author. She co-authored a book about music and psychology, titled Musicians in Tune.
