Chad is an experienced director and cameraman for documentary film and TV with over two decades of experience in both the US and internationally. From 2011-13, while living in Shanghai, he directed two seasons of the Mandarin Chinese version of the award winning reality show, The Amazing race: China Rush, with host Alan Wu, which won an award for best adaptation of a foreign format at the Asian Television Awards in 2012. Following on that success his company, Boxtop Studios, was chosen as the co-production partner for Dragon TV/Shine UK's Chinese version of Master Chef. As executive producer, his company provided production and post production services. While these larger productions were fantastic experiences, nonfiction storytelling through documentary films remain Chad's passion. Whether filming with clients on projects like Taiwan's TV-B Doc, Zhang Huan: Chineseness, or with indie filmmakers like Elizabeth Thomson on her film, Blink, or for his own documentary, All Men Are Sons - Chad creates the space for people to be authentic and tell their stories.
