Actress-Writer/Singer-Songwriter Amanda Martindale was born in Oklahoma City. As a child, she was immersed in the arts; competing in drama, vocal performance, and piano from the age of eight. In high school, she studied with Broadway star Tamara Long. After a year of musical theater at UCO, she uprooted and moved to Los Angeles. While beginning her career in entertainment with roles in independent film and cable TV, Amanda was introduced to Music Therapy. Between roles and auditions, Amanda earned her degree from California State University, Northridge and became a board certified music therapist. In 2008, Amanda was a top 35 finalist for Nashville Star on NBC. She released her debut, solo album, "The Road to Beautiful," on iTunes in 2009. She has appeared in several national, theatrical tours, including the role of the clean-up woman in "JD Lawrence presents The Clean Up Woman" (2010), which opened at the Beacon in New York, featured the fabulous Jackee Harry, and sold out houses nationwide. She joined Tate Music Group for the release of her second album, "The Simple Things" in 2013. She recently appeared alongside Eric Roberts and Patrick Davis in "The Ten: Vain" (2013), directed by Kevan Otto. Amanda is in talks to produce her screenplay "The Forgotten Heartbeat," based on her experiences interning with criminally ill adults and foster care children as a music therapist. Along with her career in entertainment, she maintains her passion for mental health and foster care, and continues to serve as an advocate and volunteer for both.
