The Enemies were a 60s garage rock band from Buffalo, New York. The members included singer Cory Wells, guitarist Mike Lustan, and drummer Dave Treiger. The band originally called themselves the Vibratos before changing their name to the Enemies. The group decided to move to Los Angeles, California and played at a bar called the Rag Doll for three months. Moreover, the Enemies also performed at such California clubs as the London Fog, the Red Velvet, Gazzari's, the Action, Danita's, Cinnamon Cinder, and Oil Can Harry's. The band played gigs in San Diego, Las Vegas, Sacramento, and Los Angeles. The Enemies were the house band at the legendary Sunset Strip nightclub the Whisky a Go Go for about a year. The appeared as themselves in both the movie "Riot on Sunset Strip" and on an episode of the TV series "The Beverly Hillbillies." In addition, the group had minor local hits with recordings of the songs "Hey Joe" and "Sinner Man." The Enemies eventually broke up in 1967. Wells went on to become a founding member of the hugely popular and successful 70s rock band Three Dog Night.
