Clare Beavan is an award winning British Director and producer best known for Daphne (2007), Codebreaker (2011), Simon Schama's Power of Art (2006) and The Prince, the Showgirl and Me (2004). She was born in Hampshire and graduated from Goldsmiths College, London with a 2;1 degree. After working as a researcher she began directing and Series Producing documentaries for Channel 4. She then joined the BBC's The Late Show (1992) Late Show team. She went on to direct a number of award winning documentaries for the BBC. In 2007, she produced and directed her first drama feature Daphne (2007) described by Time Out as 'One of the most engrossing and inventive televisual literary profiles the BBC as made in years'. She then moved into producing and directing feature documentaries.
