Wolfgang Bosbach

1968 Secondary school leaving certificate. Apprenticeship as retail salesman at Konsumgenossenschaft Köln eG/COOP West AG, supermarket manager. Attended the Rheinische Akademie in Cologne, graduating as a "state-certified business economist". Second-chance Abitur. Studied law at the University of Cologne, passing the first and second state law examinations in 1988 and 1991 respectively. Has worked as a lawyer since 1991. Member of the Board of the Verein gegen Vergessen - für Demokratie e. V. (Association against Forgetting - for Democracy), from 2000 to 2006 member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future. Joined the CDU in 1972. 1975 to 1979 member of the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis district council, 1979 to 1999 member of the Bergisch Gladbach city council. Member of the Bundestag since 1994; Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group since February 2000.
