Eric Courtney is an International Award Winning video photographer with 20 years experience . Born and raised in Ireland, Eric began his career in the mid 1990's shooting electronic press kits (EPK's) on major Hollywood movies such as Animal Farm, Reign of Fire , King Arthur, The Honeymooners and The Count Of Monte Cristo. His reputation rapidly started to grow and he was subsequently hired to work with world renowned iconic artists such as Pavorotti, Leonard Cohen, Josh Grobin, Snow Patrol and David Gray. In 2004 Eric was cinematographer on the documentary KM64 Birth of a Skate Park directed by David Keating. In 2006 he was cinematographer on the critically acclaimed feature length documentary on legendary singer John Mc Cormick entitled The peoples Tenor. In 2007 Eric directed his first full length feature film Seer. This was screened in several world renowned film festivals including the illustrious Irish Film Institute Horrorthon and the Galway Film Fleadh. Eric was also video photographer on the documentary Shay Elliot Cycle of Betrayal, which received a Best Sports Documentary nomination at the Irish Film And Television Awards in 2010. In 2011 Eric was video photographer on the documentary TK Wittaker Servant Of The State which also received a nomination for Best Documentary at the Irish Film and Television Awards . Eric went on to make a short movie called Car Trouble in 2012 which was a semi finalist at the Los Angelos Cinefest. In 2015 his second feature film An Irish Exorcism obtained international distribution by Virgil Films on all media platforms across the United States and Canada. In 2016 Eric's movie Good Fortune also went on to win a diamond award for best short film at the California Film festival and won an excellence award at the Canadian Headline International Film Festival. Eric is currently working as a freelance video photographer in Washington DC for many international broadcasters including CGTN, Channel 4/ITN, Hallmark Channel and PBS. Most recent works include video photographer on the national Emmy Award winning show 'Full Frame' and other prestigious shows for CGTN America. Other recent career highlights include video photographer on a PBS special entitled Tony Bennett The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. This special included performances by Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban , Gloria Estefan, Vanessa Williams, Bruce Willis and Tony Bennett. Eric is a member of the White House Photographer Association and the National Press Club.He is also an FAA certified Drone Pilot.
