Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Donovan studied theatre with Tony Award Winner, Joseph A. Walker. After a few years of performing with Walker's Intoto Theatre Company, Donovan continued his training and earned a BA degree in Theater from Temple University. Upon completing his studies, Donovan continued performing with regional theatre companies, which include Freedom Repertory Theatre, African Continuum Theatre, and Arena Stage. He has also been involved with several independent film projects.
