Justin Zimmerman, MFA in Film, is a nationally recognized writer, director and professor. His narrative and documentary work has appeared in almost 200 film festivals across the globe and has been broadcast on national public television, where he won two international television awards. He's also been the recipient of multiple grants and fellowships, he contributed a story to the Eisner Award-winning graphic novel Love Is Love, and his script and comic work has been optioned on multiple occasions. Since then his work has appeared in fests across the world and in almost every state, winning numerous awards. His projects have also been distributed worldwide, including his feature length documentary SMART: Specialized Mobile Animal Rescue Team. Zimmerman served as the COO for graphic novel publisher A Wave Blue World, and his written work includes both comics and scripts. On the script front there's Stephen King's The Man Who Loved Flowers (approved by King), Break In (optioned), The Walls (optioned) and the official adaptations of his comic series The Killing Jar (optioned) and Other Worlds. On the comic front, thousands of pages of comic work include The 27 Run, The 27 Run: Crush and The Killing Jar (AWBW), Other Worlds, Other Worlds: Fer Kidz, Safe, Dr. Holman's War, Love Is Love (DC / IDW), Life Is A Devil's Bargain (featured in the All We Ever Wanted Anthology) and Flyer (featured in the Broken Frontier Anthology). Zimmerman's received support as far-reaching as the OU / Parry / Billman Fine Arts Grant, the Ohio Arts Council Fellowship, OAC Individual Artist Grant and OAC Project Grant, a Western Foundation Grant and a National Association of Theater Owners Grant. Zimmerman's corporate clients include Getty Images, Cisco Systems, IPX, Excalibur Comics, Friender, Broken Frontier, Timber Press, RackWare and more. Zimmerman has also taught at Ohio University, Denison, Western State, Denver School of the Arts and Portland State and served as the Executive Director of the McMinnville Short Film Festival.
