L. J. Riedl is a TV and film director from Salzburg, Austria, with many years of professional experience. In 2001 he founded his own company "Riedl.TV and Filmproduction" with which he has produced for a wide range of TV channels such as arte, ATV, BBC, BR, NDR, ORF, and Servus TV. L. J. Riedl's projects cover various categories of today's media: cinematic documentaries and motion pictures, recordings of orchestra performances, music videos, promotional and economical films, interactive multimedia productions, social media content, online streaming, tablet apps with moving image content, crowd funding videos and more. At the Bavaria Filmstudios he was head of the staff department. He worked as manager of the EuroPrix team in a research company in Salzburg with which he has established the first IP-IPTV channel for ASTRA S.E.S. In 2010 he won the Corporate Media Award, Silver Dolphin in Cannes, then in 2012 the Lifelong Learning Award of the Austrian Government. He was awarded with the first prize at the Upper Austrian film competition in 2015 and received a music video prize at the Wellington Festival in Florida, 2016 with the title "I give you my hand". In addition he has been - and is - teaching at multiple institutes and schools in the field of his profession: the Pedagogical Institute in Munich and Vienna, the University of Salzburg, the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg and Hagenberg, Masterclasses of Photography in Salzburg and Linz, and founded the WIFI Film Academy in his hometown, Salzburg. He co-founded the Master course "Film, TV & Media" at the University of Applied Sciences St. Poelten, Austria, where he teaches dramaturgy.
