Rabeah Ghaffari was born in Iran in 1971 and has been living in New York City since 1981. She is a writer, filmmaker and actress. She has performed at many New York theaters including La MaMa, ETC, Theatre 22, The Judith Anderson and The Kitchen. Her film acting credits include "Windows", by Shoja Azari (Official selection of the Tribeca Film Festival 2006) and "Almost in Love" by Sam Neave. As a filmmaker she has made a feature length documentary, The Troupe, which featured Tony Kushner and was executive produced by Shirin Neshat and funded by the Ford Foundation and Lincoln Center. As a film editor she has edited two feature length documentaries by filmmaker, Zohreh Shayesteh: "Inside Out" (Competition selection of the Tribeca Film Festival 2006) and "Picking Apples, Drinking Tea". As a writer, Miss Ghaffari has written a screenplay, Neyshapoor, which was an official selection of the IFP/Emerging Narrative 2005. She was also a participant of the Berlin Film Festival's Talent Campus 2005 and the Sundance Screen Writer's Lab with the Royal Film Commision of Jordan 2006. She is at work on her first novel.
