Jeremy Briers

Currently living and working in Ireland I've been in the film industry for quite a while now and have accumulated a whole range of skills in that time. But my passion lies in editing. I really love crafting story. Happily, I've spent the last 8 years working almost exclusively on TV Drama shows and Feature Films. These include Professionals (2019) isiThembiso, The Herd, Imposter, Nkululeko, Isibaya, Tempy Pushas, Sticks & Stones, Jacob's Cross, Shuga 2, Soul Buddys, Zone 14, Endgame, It's Complicated, Mfolozi Street, Thola and many, many more. On the Concert film, documentary and music video front I have crafted material in South Africa for Mango Groove, Watershed, Steve Hofmeyr, Ringo, Peter Ntwane, the great and legendary American and all round super guy Shawn Phillips as well as British based Marillion. I have edited 1 feature film a year for the past 3 years and my latest film Zulu Wedding was released in Cinemas in October of 2019. I am extremely experienced with FCPX, Adobe Premiere and Avid MC. I have also had at least some experience using After Effects, Cubase, LogicX, ProTools and various other bits and pieces of software. Having served time as Post Production Supervisor, and Head Editor I have a very broad base of technical experience - including sound design and most recently color grading - and I have won several awards over the years for my work both as an Editor and Sound Designer and for my work as a Director and Cameraman. And in the last 4 years have won 3 SAFTA awards for editing in South Africa. However, I remain most at home in the edit suite and simply love getting my hands dirty in all the many varied aspects of post-production. I also like to think that I play well with others and can usually be relied upon to put my pants on the right way around without adult supervision, which I suspect is not something anyone can take for granted anymore.
