Tricia Dyar was born in Greenville, SC. Her family's love for music and the arts created the groundwork for her devotion to the entertainment industry. Tricia performed on stage for years throughout her childhood and had her first lead role at age 16 as Maria in "Westside Story." She went on to college to earn a bachelor's in music from Anderson University where she performed in numerous plays and musicals including "The Beams are Creaking," "Antigone," and "Smoke On The Mountain" where she was able to truly let her musical abilities shine. While at Anderson, Tricia, enjoyed working both on stage and behind the scenes as make-up artist, lighting and sound technician, set designer / builder, and the list truly goes on. Tricia began working in television in 1996 and again worked as both talent and crew for a national production company in Spartanburg, SC. In 2000, Tricia's life took a beautiful new direction as she gave birth to an incredible son, Easton. He changed her life and brought such joy as she spent her time making him laugh and smile with her song and dance. 2 years later, Tricia made her film debut as the lead character in an Independent film called "Night." Since then she has had the pleasure of working with many talented individuals such as Joe Esteves (Apocolypse Now Redux), Jared McVay (Bugs Bunny), Barry Pepper (3: The Dale Earnhardt Story), Tyler Perry (Daddy's Little Girls) and many others. During this time her passion for music remained a constant pursuit, performing as a solo artist as well as directing a local choir when off set. She has performed in and directed ensembles of all sizes. In 1998, Tricia met fellow actor/musician Tom Dyar on the set another production of "Smoke On The Mountain." After sell out performances they parted ways only to meet again in 2005 for the reunion show called "Sanders Family Christmas." It was then that Tom invited Tricia to join him and another fellow musician in a musical trio. Soon after, the third party left for other ventures and Tom and Tricia formed their duo "Dear Betty." In 2009, Tom and Tricia saw how perfect they were for each other and on August 29th, 2009, the two became one. They have since moved to Garden City, SC where they are pursuing their love for music and acting together. While Tom and Tricia love performing as Dear Betty, Tricia also performs her solo show as Kitty Shirle, taking on the same stage name her Grandmother used in the 40's as the front singer in a swing band that performed at the long gone Eagles Club in downtown Greenville, SC. It is with pride that Tricia walks in her Grandmother's footsteps keeping the sounds of days gone by in the hearts of everyone who stops to listen. Her desire is to one day produce an epic film telling the beautiful love story of her grandparents.
