Fernando Kalife, is a writer / director based in Monterrey, Mexico. He wrote, produced and directed "Becoming Champions" series on Netflix. Fernando Kalife studied film at the University of South California, where he was invited to the Master Program as a Visiting Scholar. He wrote 7 Días (2005), nominated for 5 Mexican Academy Awards. This was U2's first appearance in a film, the movie includes scenes from Vertigo Tour and the band's soundtrack for the movie. His second film, 180º, was edited by Oscar-winning editor Hughes Winborne. 180º was shown on the South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup. It was supported by the Nelson Mandela Foundation and by the former President of South Africa and Nobel Prize Nelson Mandela, as well as getting support from the former United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan. "A universal story that has to be seen by everybody.", said Kofi Annan about 180º. It won several international awards. Fernando has also worked as the host and director of the TV show Cinema Futbol, a show in which the filmmaker interviews soccer coaches, analyzes films and sports. The show aired during the Brazil World Cup 2014. Aside from being a filmmaker, he gives Personal-Development Workshops and Seminars, as well as being a Corporate Advisor.
