Simone Contu was born in Cagliari in 1970. Conferred a bachelor's degree on philosophy at the Catholic University of Milano. Master thesis on the performance of Tenores chant (a traditional sardinian chant). In Milano he also begun film studies and conferred a degree at Scuola Civica di Cinema in 2001. Simone matured his experience in feature films, commercials and music videos working with production companies in Rome and Milan as production assistant and unit manager. Between June and July 2008 he directed "Santu Jorgi, su mori" a documentary on San Giorgio di Suelli's pilgrimage, committed by the homonym foundation, under the sponsorship of Ogliastra and Cagliari's diocese. Between august and November 2008 he has been working as a scientific adviser at the Documentation Center of Orgosolo and Supramonte, for the section dedicated to Vittorio De Seta and His filmography. The feature film "Treulababbu (Deranging dad)" IT 2013, his debut as a director and producer, originates from a accurate reflection and a passionate study on Sardinian culture. In December 2015 he get in a Fondazione Sardegna Film Commission's team, where he works as Head of Production until February 2016. He currently lives and works in Sardinia as Production and Location Manager for various Italian and international companies.
