Rich Armstrong is the Bay Area's most sought after multi-instrumentalist, switching effortlessly between vocals, trumpet, percussion, and guitar. He has had a storied career, having played, toured, and recorded with Boz Scaggs, Tony! Toni! Toné!, Thomas Dolby, Lydia Pense & Cold Blood, Lyrics Born, Train, and Josh Groban. He has also done stints with Petula Clarke, Train, Spoon, and Jody Watley and was the long time band member (15 years) and musical director of the now infamous but extremely talented Michelle Shocked, having toured almost every state and country with her. He is a regular and contributing member of SF's famed Jazz Mafia, and is the band leader of SF's top party band, the 415s- the415s.com Rich has also released a few albums with talented jazz chanteuse Roberta Donnay and records regularly with famed producer Narada Michael Walden (Mariah/Whitney). He is working on a full length album of his own to showcase his songwriting talents. He is a founding member of the Crossroads Live Music Experience which brought high level live concert music to Burning Man these last 5 years. Rich also takes music education very seriously, and is a music director of the Waldorf School of the Peninsula. He devotes much of his time to getting kids involved with music and considers the success of his grass root programs to be his highest achievement. He recently did original music for the independent film, 'Frank's Last Job' and also contributed to the award winning indie short, 'Rollercoaster'. He also penned the horns, strings, and boy's choir for the band Train's Amazon Movies Broadcast- Christmas in San Francisco.
