Katrín Jakobsdóttir is Iceland's 28th Prime Minister. Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, she trained as an expert in Icelandic language and literature before becoming a journalist and a lecturer at the University of Iceland. She became deputy chairperson of the Left Green Movement in 2003 and served as Iceland's Minister of Education, Science and Culture for four years. In 2017, she headed up a coalition of several progressive parties, becoming Iceland's second ever female Prime Minister on the 30th November. She is married with three sons and supports the Iceland football team with enormous passion.
