Birmingham, Alabama native Chris Garrison attended the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan to learn cartoon animation. After returning to the South, he continued doing freelance work on projects shown on Sesame Street, Cartoon Network, MTV, and Nickelodeon. He also animated regional TV commercials and drew storyboards for live-action spots. Garrison co-created and acted in the live-action short The Electric Heartbreaker, which garnered a glowing, 5-star review from Chris Gore of filmthreat.com. He is also the founder of the Alabama cartoonists' club The Salty 'Ham Cartooneestas.
