David Altrogge is an avid coffee drinker, unabashed Glenn Miller fanboy, and lifelong storyteller. Hailing from the wilds of Western Pennsylvania, David wrote and directed his first feature length film as a senior in high school. Since then, David has established himself as a filmmaker whose work is thought provoking, inspiring, entertaining, and deeply human. He's directed spots for some of the globe's most influential brands - Netflix, Google, Marriott, Discovery, Brown-Forman, and Procter & Gamble, to name a few. His films have been featured by CNN, BBC, Mashable, Devour, and the LA Times. In 2016, his groundbreaking documentary series The New Space Race was released in conjunction with NatGeo, telling the stories of the maverick scientists, engineers, artists, and businessmen who are trying to open up the frontier of space. His most recent film, Neat: The Story of Bourbon, features funnyman Steve Zahn (Dallas Buyers Club, War for the Planet of the Apes, and Captain Fantastic) and explores the rich and storied world of America's only native spirit - bourbon whiskey. The film was acquired and released by The Orchard (known for the Oscar-nominated Cartel Land and Life, Animated) in 2018. He is the co-founder of Vinegar Hill, an Emmy nominated storytelling outfit based in New York City and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
