David Brian Lounder is the proud son of the late Barbara Aloise Cope Lounder and Richard Adelbert Lounder. Dave worked as a radio personality on both AM and FM stations prior to shifting his focus to entrepreneurial pursuits, highlighted by a mobile disc jockey business, record store, and cinema and drive-in theatre operating companies. Lounder studied acting and improvisation in New York City. Engaged numerous times, but never married, Lounder's fourth fiance, 1980s Hollywood model and actress, Heidi Anne Zacher, passed away unexpectedly in 2011, at age 42. Mr. Lounder has battled Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (O.C.D.) and depression for most of his life, and in 2008 checked himself into a psychiatric hospital after a severe downward spiral. Years of alcohol abuse and related junk food diet resulted in a three month medical hospitalization in 2012, which included a two week coma. While unconscious, David's organs shut-down, and his immediate family was notified that he would not survive. The ordeal resulted in his having to re-learn to walk, and has left him with severe neuropathy in both of his feet, with the resulting constant pain and burning sensations causing periodic limping, and use of a cane for balance support. Today in 2020, David is 8+ years sober, semi-retired, Vegan, and a huge animal advocate. He continues to act in, and produce movies; is an authority on Drive-In Theatres, and dabbles in the buying and selling of collectibles, with all proceeds going to the operation of his company, Dave Lounder (DaLo) Enterprises, a voice for, and guardian of, ALL animals, and a Drive-In Theatre revival organization. Lounder shares his Connecticut home with seven cats and one dog.
