Subodh Chopra

Subodh Chopra, a professional screenplay writer and film director in Mumbai's Film and TV Fraternity. Today, a seasoned senior grade writer, he's been active in this field since 1997. A career ensued with writing screenplay and dialogues for- 'Reporter' on DD-1, an extremely popular and critically acclaimed TV Series produced and Directed by Vinod Pande. Starring Shekhar Suman,Mona Ambegaonkar and late actor Raj Kiran. Since his natural writing style and genre is emotional and socially relevant themes, his scripts and films explore interpersonal relationships and stories which narrate hard hitting/ 'slice of life' situations. His career struck an upward streak when he was invited to write exclusively for Zee Entertainment channel. He went on to write Seven different one hour films for RISHTEY on Zee TV and worked with some extremely reputed directors like Partho Mitra, Salim Arif, Parvati Balagopalan, Gul Khan etc. Almost a year later, a bigger breakthrough came with a Docu-Drama series - HAQEEQAT. A show hosted by Mahesh Bhatt. It was a hugely successful show and was critically acclaimed. Produced by Anuradha Prasad 'Haqeeqat' was about actual court cases of human rights' Violations. Directed by Late Sourabh Narang, the series went on to win several TV awards. This established his credentials as a writer to reckon with; Mr Mahesh Bhatt, thereby offered him to write exclusively for Vishesh films and he went on to write biggest hit of that year 'Murder'. Followed by 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha' Both directed by director Anurag Basu and also the dialogues for ROG, starring late Irrfan Khan and also for milti award winning film 'Dobara' Directed By Shashi Ranjan. He's directed several adverts and TVC with several spots for Lodha Builders working exclusively for Kreative Access Media. Also directed several Episodes of Savdhan India for SAREGAMA films, including the award winnning episode starring Sarita Joshi and Jannat Shaikh. He's also directed 'Vasudha' a Malayalam feature film. Starring Geeta Nair, Vijayan Menon and Kaithaparam as lyricist and music Director. His most recent and notable work as a writer and a director is a ten minute war film, shot for the Indian Army's 13 Jak Rif Battalion, shot exclusively at Nimu in Ladakh. Directed, and also having written the V/O for Amitabh Bachchan, film was premiered at the Vijay Diwas Ceremony at IGI indoor stadium New Delhi, A jam packed stadium with PM Modi presiding over along with CDS Gen Bipin Rawat, hundreds of Kargil war Veterans and also with DefMin Rajnath Singh and NSA Ajit Dhoval etc. on July 27 2019.
