Rod Amador

Director
Date of birth : 09/16/1976
City of birth : Matagalpa, Nicaragua

Rod was born in the northern city of Matagalpa, Nicaragua, on September 16, 1976, and developed an interest in the arts at an early age. His parents enrolled him in drawing and painting classes, which helped him establish the foundation for his craft. At the age of 12, during the violent civil unrest of the mid to late eighties in Nicaragua, his family decided to exit the country for a better life and immigrated to Canada. They settled in the quiet and thriving city of London, Ontario. While in London, Rod continued to develop his artistic skills, and after completing high school, he set his sights on attending the world-renowned Sheridan College's Classical Animation program. Rod grew increasingly frustrated with the curriculum after two years, and with a heavy conscience, he left the program. In the summer of 1999, he made his way to Ottawa, Ontario, where he began his career in TV Animation, and there was no turning back. He then moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he continued to work in TV Animation. He branched out into Interactive Animation for an E-Learning company until he made his way back to Ottawa at the end of 2003. Upon returning to Ottawa, he focused on becoming a Story Artist. He managed to land lucrative contracts until the Spring of 2008 when he decided to open up an Animation studio Big Jump Entertainment Inc. with two other partners. He lives in Ottawa with his wife and sons.
