Michael Stone is a filmmaker and comedian who was based in Milan, Italy for 7 years before moving to Southern California. Born in Wilmette, IL, Michael took an interest in film/video production at a young age, directing and starring in his own short-subject films. His first job was at a local public-access TV-studio where he directed a weekly television program called Public Affairs. At the University of Illinois, Michael, together with Andrew McAllister, founded the Illini Film & Video Club which promotes student film productions and collaborated with Roger Ebert's Overlooked Film Festival. Shortly after college, Michael relocated to Milan, Italy, where he resided for 7 years. While in Milan, Michael worked as a news videographer, actor, and director. Michael appeared in Italian television commercials and TV-series and produced/directed his own web video projects, including a web-series called Milano Rocks. He is fluent in Italian. Michael also founded the international social expat organization, AMERiCANiTES, which has the goal of promoting American cultural events abroad, bringing people together, and bringing an international perspective to Americans at home. In 2012, Michael relocated to San Diego, California, where he founded the San Diego Actors & Filmmakers meetup group and Facebook community. In 2017 Michael relocated to Santa Monica, California. He is very active in the WestSide Comedy Theater community.
