James has been making movies since his father gave him his first camera at the age of nine. Since his debut film, "How chickens lay eggs," he has maintained a clear, focused and uncompromising commitment to his vocation as a director. His career spans three decades and his directing credits include 26 episodes of Live-action Broadcast Television, 12 episodes of Computer Animated Broadcast Television, 28 Commercial and Corporate productions, 30 Short films, 25 Broadcast Music Videos and a Feature. His directing works to date have garnered him 24 National and International awards in Television, Music videos and Animation. Throughout the last ten years he has taught directing at the Vancouver Film School, Arts Umbrella, Mainframe Entertainment, Tarlington Talent and the Actor's Studio. During that time he mentored over 160 student short films, many of these productions have also won numerous National and International awards. In addition James has created a popular workshop to enhance actors' understanding of director's goals, set related needs and working relationships.
