He recently starred in Gunesin Kizlari and Cesur & Guzel, two TV series that has been broadcasted in 85 countries. He also acted in the Afghan-American independent movie I Am You that has been a candidate of nomination both for The Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards. Ali Pinar was born in Istanbul. He attended to piano classes for seven years in Brussels at Waterloo Academy while he was resident there. Back home he has graduated from Galatasaray High School. He completed his undergraduate study at Istanbul Bilgi University Cinema-TV Department with a scholarship from Belgium, his master degree at Halic University Conservatory Theatre Department. Meanwhile he studied singing for three years with State Artist Ayhan Baran in Mimar Sinan State Conservatory Opera Department. Also he has trained at Studio Actors of Sahika Tekand on acting and theatre. Thereafter continued his training with Ayla Algan and three years with Mehmet Ulusoy, the most acknowledged Turkish director abroad. He also participated to Viola Spolin workshops of Kate Hendrickson, Jason Hale and Ege Maltepe. He is continuing his postgraduate education in Bahcesehir University at the Cinema and Media Studies Program. Initially began his career in 1995 as an assistant director at the National Theatre and the former Istanbul Municipality Cemal Resit Rey Opera. Since he is acting in features, Turkish series, commercials and theatre. He acted also in international productions. Recently in cinema, he performed a Syrian escapee of war in I Am You an American independent film directed by Sonia N. Cole, that has been a candidate of nomination both for The Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards. Lastly on TV he appeared in one of the principal roles in Gunesin Kizlari and in Cesur & Guzel as the father of Cesur, two TV series which were very popular not only in Turkey but among 85 countries. Ali Pinar has also presented Sinepolitik, a program about politics and cinema on TRT Haber (National News Channel). The Battle of Prague, a work where he was the narrator, has been presented in Brussels at Printemps Baroque du Sablon and in New York at United Nations, Dag Hammarskjöld Hall. Recently on scene, he performed The Narrator in Prokofiev's Peter and The Wolf with Tekfen Philharmonic led by maestro Darrel Ang at TIM Show Center, one of the greatest venues in Istanbul. Ali Pinar has presented "Aksak" on the National Radio Station (TRT 3) and is now presenting every week "Alla Turca" on Acik Radio and Alafranga on Borusan Klasik Radio in Istanbul. Ali Pinar speaks French as his native language and can act in English as well as in Italian.
