A native of Swampscott, Massachusetts, Noah Pohl started writing and directing short films in high school. He earned an Honors Degree in Literary Arts with a focus in Screenwriting from Brown University, studying under writers Erin Cressida Wilson, David Grimm and Aisha Rahman. While at Brown, he also co-directed the feature documentary, "Mission To Matrimony," about the legalization of gay marriage in Massachusetts, which was selected to play multiple film festivals around the world. He followed that up by writing and directing a short film, "Expiration Date," named one of the Best Short Films of 2008 by Indy Mogul. In 2012, he co-produced and edited the viral video, the "Legitimate Rape Pharmaceutical Ad," condemning U.S. Rep. Todd Akin's controversial comments about "legitimate rape." The video was featured on Jezebel, Gawker, Reddit, The Huffington Post, RT News, The Daily Beast, and Buzzfeed -- which dubbed it "brilliant" -- after garnering nearly a million hits. A finalist for the Nancy D. Hargrove Editors' Prize in Fiction, his work has also been featured or is forthcoming in Litro Magazine, The Jabberwock Review and The South Dakota Review.
