DJ Nicke was born in Detroit, Michigan, but he has lived and worked in 7 countries on 3 continents. He taught himself computer animation at the age of 15 and was accepted into college at the age of 16. At 18, DJ published his first video game, began performing stand up comedy at 19 (where he had a 'part-time' career which lasted 8-years and spanned 2 continents). DJ was hired to train the Sydney Police forensics department in the use of computer graphics for crime scene visualization (CSI) before he turned 20. He then became one of the youngest animators ever hired by Walt Disney Animation, at just 21 years old. In his late 30's, DJ turned his attention to documentary filmmaking. His first feature-length documentary film inspired a grass-roots movement that helped change federal law in the USA - helping to legalize the growing of Hemp for farmers across the nations. He continues working on projects to raise awareness of crucial issues using the power of digital media. DJ resides in Germany with his wife.
