Ise Lyfe is an award winning recording artist, author and actor. He is one of the leading Spoken Word artists in America with a broad fan base ranging from his debut on HBO Def Poetry Jam, as a resident contributor for Huffington Post and New York Times, and author of the national best-selling book "Pistols and Prayers." Ise lyfe is a skilled actor, writer and social architect who has showcased his vast body of work at over 300 universities including Yale and Princeton. He is a nationally renowned and has built a decade of experience in the performing arts world that includes his premiere at the Tony Award winning Berkeley Repertory Theater of the one-man theatre piece also entitled "Pistols and Prayers." While his vast body of work spills over into the realms of theater, business, and authorship, Ise Lyfe is a captivating hip-hop artist, stemming from his debut album, "Spread The Word," which was given '4 Stars' from AllHipHop.com. For his second LP release "Prince Cometh," Seattle Weekly acclaimed, "He may one day take over Mos Def's mantle as Hip-Hop's poet laureate." Ise Lyfe's highly anticipated third album, Slave R3volt is slated to drop Summer 2014. Ise Lyfe has performed with Gil Scott-Heron, Dave Chappelle, Lauryn Hill, Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, E-40, Harry Belafonte, Mos Def, Malcolm Jamaal Werner, KRS-One, Martin Luther, Saul Williams, Ben Harper, Erykah Badu, Zion I, and The Coup to name a few. Ise Lyfe has the upcoming release of his second book "Get Off the Fence," his full-length documentary "A Phenomenal Question," and satirical news show entitled "What Are We Thinking?" Ise Lyfe leverages his fame as a unique and powerful voice within the artistic and human rights world as well through his contemporary art exhibitions that address the fundamental right to food, shelter and clothing for all. Ise Lyfe is the former Commissioner of Arts and Cultural Affairs in his hometown of Oakland, CA. In 2012, Ise Lyfe's hometown of Oakland, CA awarded him with one of it's highest honors by dedicating his birthday, December 28th, as 'Ise Lyfe Day' in the City of Oakland.
