Kristen McNaule is a screenwriter and filmmaker from Ottawa, Canada. She holds Bachelors degrees in Criminology and Political Science from Carleton University, and her interest in International Development has taken her to Sierra Leone to produce a documentary about post-conflict development. She's the founding director of Element 109, a production company that uses cinema to shine a light on mental illness, civil rights, and other important social issues. In 2018, her drama feature script, "Alphabet City" was a semi-finalist in the Austin Film Festival script competition, and in 2017 she became the first female ever to be awarded Best Director at the Digi60 Film Festival for her short film "From Sarajevo." Her films have been official selection at several international film festivals, and "From Sarajevo" was acquired for broadcast by the CBC.
