Garnette Octavian Clarke was born in Richmond, Virginia. In 3rd grade, once the music director discovered that he could sing, the play Mary Poppins was altered to ensure that he had a solo in the play. He attended acting classes while in elementary/middle school at Hatt Theatre, and was in the school chorus in 7th/8th grade. He started writing original songs and movies at the age of 13. He attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton,Virginia for one year, where he worked with close with Professor Todd Ristau (founder of No Shame Theatre in ). Tavian blew the crowd away when he performed an original monologue, Jimmy Sheets, at No Shame Theatre. He met director, Bobby Peoples and acted in his first movie, Ghost Writer: Hell's Property in 2004. In 2005 he acted in the movie For Thy Love as a gangster named Murda Ma. Later in 2005, Tavian was a production assistant in Trey Songz feat. Twista Just Gotta Make It music video. Tavian is now working towards building his own company, GOC Productions.
