Date of birth : 07/11/1959
City of birth : Los Angeles, California, USA

Rio Kelley was born in Los Angeles to Robert and Genevieve Kelley. At age 2 her parents moved the family to Colorado Springs where she was raised in a small community called Security. An only child growing up in the 60's-70's her main focus was TV, Films, Music, and performing for her extended family. Ever since she was 6 years old she had only one dream, to act, sing and perform professionally. Her father told her that when she was 18 years old she could move back to Los Angeles and pursue that career, however since she was still a child, he did not have the right to determine her destiny. This was a very hard message for her to hear, for her only real dream was to be an actress. When she was 13 years old, she found the world of ice skating and proceeded to become a competitive ice dancer. This lasted until she was 17, at which time her parents ran out of the funds for her to continue skating and once again was thwarted at the expression of her creative talents. She never forgot those words of her father's however, and at age 18 she moved back to California to become an actress. After brief stints in the music business as an A&R representative and promotions assistant in the late 70's, in 1980 she moved to Las Vegas to become a professional ice skater. Within a year however she was injured and had to quit her skating career. Always at the very center of her heart was acting, and in 1987 she found herself becoming a working actress with her first role in a relatively new daytime drama called Santa Barbara. She continued in numerous other daytime drama's including Generations, Young and the Restless, and Days of Our Lives. In 2000 she left the entertainment business to follow a spiritual calling of becoming a licensed practitioner and minister at the Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City, CA. She remained a staff member and staff minister at Agape until 2014 when a layoff returned her to acting, and in addition brought her back to her original Catholic faith. Since 2014 Rio has focused on her re-blossoming acting career as well as her deep love for God, Jesus and Mother Mary. In 2017 she performed in The Hollywood Fringe Festival as part of an ensemble cast in "Got A Minute". In addition to her re-entry to the stage, she also rescinded all former ministerial licenses from Agape, in favor of a simple, humble life as a Catholic in Christ; and as a Catholic she also is hopeful about bringing sanctity to the entertainment business by focusing on positive and family friendly films and television. She is also excited about the enormous possibilities of being a more mature actress in the business, and is part of the SAG Senior and Diversity committee. Only God knows what the present and future have in store for her, however her Trust in Jesus is her guide, and with Him guiding her career, she is confident God's Will will indeed Be Done. Come back to this page to follow her progress of following her childhood dreams, to see how they all come true.
