Karen Lindholm-Rynkiewicz is a writer/director known for films such as The Magnificent Donut (winner of the 2006 Golden Badger at the Wisconsin Film Festival), Small Talk, Gold Digger, Portrait of a Dog, and Venus Rising from the Undertow. In the past, she has worked with the Milwaukee Film Festival as a mentor to young filmmakers. Growing up in a house that was a blend of the south and the east coast, Karen came into her own writing voice as a mid-western transplant. Karen has an MA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Karen lives a double life as a high school engineering teacher whose students are always surprised when they run her name through a search engine.
