Abimael was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico on April 3rd. Since he was a child he was interested in arts. Acosta studied Theater and TV and Radio Production in the University of Puerto Rico. Abimael started his career as an actor in theater and TV but later he decided to be a writer. His credits as a writer in tv includes: "Flores de la Noche", "Amores como todos los demas", "Que Candela de Pueblito", "Un Angel de Hojalata", "El Regalo", "Los Vecinos", "Solteros Siempre", "Se caen de La Matta", and "La Vida es un Carnaval". He also has written for radio; "La familia sin igual" and "Risas a lo loco". Acosta also has directed for tv: "Primera Llamada" and "Eso no viene na". In theather he wrote "Los Invisibles", "Mama apaga la plancha", "Hercules", "El Jorobado de Notre Dame", "Quien puede mas", "Pedrito; "El regreso del Mesias", "La Verdadera Historia de Peter Cuchilla", among others. Acosta also has worked in films as actors director in "Dona Ana", and director, writer and producer in "Muerte en el Paraiso"and "Jephta". In 2011 Abimael moved to Los Angeles to start his career as writer and director in Hollywood. Now Acosta is working in a tv series in English language "Wizards" and in his new film "Facade". At this moment Acosta works as writer, actor and director in Los Angeles and Puerto Rico as well.
