Carlos Duarte Quin was trained in dramatic art at the Teatro Libre in Bogotá and at the Juana Sujo Theater School in Caracas. He has attended workshops, courses and workshops in cities such as London and New York with professionals of international level. As an actor he has worked with prestigious Latin American directors. He has been an actor in titles such as "Seis personajes en busca de autor" by Luigi Pirandello, "Muerte en la catedral" by T.S. Elliot, "El archivo" by Tadeuz Rosewitz. In 2012 he founded DESOLATRIA FILMS with the intention of producing independent films, fiction and documentaries. He is currently finishing the post-production of the documentary feature film "Los pasos de la mariposa", about the work and life of Argentine actress Norma Aleandro, with the participation of Ricardo Darín; a documentary he has directed and produced. LOS PASOS DE LA MARIPOSA is a co-production in collaboration with Espacio H from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has produced and directed the musical documentary "Jaime Urrutia, la fuerza de la costumbre", "El hombre que caminó mirando las estrellas", "El actor", "Balada para un adiós" short film. His next projects include a fiction thriller drama (Desolatria), a documentary (Mirar hacia atrás con ira) and a fiction feature film (Perpetua). He has participated in the Havana Film Festival, Bogota International Film Festival, Rio de Janeiro Film Festival, Uruguay Film Festival, Seminci, Elche Film Festival, Malaga Festival.
