Sara Sommerfeldt was born in Munich, Germany. She studied acting at Staatliche Hochschule fuer Musik und darstellende Kunst Stuttgart. On completion of her diploma in 2001, she began theatre performances, including the prestigious Staatstheater Stuttgart and Schauspielhaus Bochum. Sara's TV career started in 2004, when Bernd Fischerauer cast her for Apollonia (2005) opposite Götz Otto and Hans-Michael Rehberg. Since then, she has performed in various movies and series. In 2005, she portrayed the daughter of Juliane Köhler and Henry Hübchen in Markus Imbodens TV movie Auf ewig und einen Tag (2006), that was nominated for the Adolf-Grimme-Preis. During same year, she was one of 7 1/2 Frauen (2006) in the so-called short by Georgian director Bidzina Kanchaveli, that was awarded the Best experimental short film prize by jury president Ridley Scott at the I've seen films festival in Milan, Italy. At International Festival Pentedattilo, 7,5 women won the award for the Best short film. Sara Sommerfeldt went on to star in popular criminal series like _Die Rosenheim-Cops (2008-2013)_ and SOKO 5113 (1978), as well as in the Bavarian series Der Kaiser von Schexing (2008), directed by Franz Xaver Bogner. She also continued her collaboration with Bernd Fischerauer in three further TV productions. Moreover, she recently showed her talent for comedy in the first season of the criminal series Die Garmisch-Cops (2012) as secretary Marianne Zaglmann. In 2012, Hans Steinbichler chose Sara Sommerfeldt for his independent movie Q and A. In 2013, she was part of the cast in Let's Go! (2014) by Michael Verhoeven, that was presented at Munich Filmfestival. In 2019, Sara Sommerefeldt released her debut album Herz aus Glas, a mixture of retro pop, chanson and trip hop influences with German lyrics.
