GuGu E. Michaels

GuGu E. Michaels is an accomplished filmmaker who has worked as a director / director of photography on a number of commercials and independent projects including the feature films "Thugz", "Dangerous County", Urban Killaz", "Repentance", "Best Served Cold", "Pastor's Wife", Dangerous Men", "Unge's War" and "Jacob's Eye". He has worked on a number of campaign for retailers like Cadillac and Porche. Prior to founding AP Studios, Michaels served as president of Dallas based indie record label Redrumm Recordz and worked with such artists as hip hop giants UGK, Ludacris and Steve Austin. GuGu E. Michaels won best editor and cinematography at the Black Film Festival in 2005. In 2012 he has racked up over 12 nominations in multiple award organizations like World Music and Independent Film festival with his Action Movie "Dangerous Men" for Best Action film, Best Cinematography, Best screenplay and Best African film. Michael's film "dangerous Men" won "Best African Film" and "Best Action Film". Meanwhile his epic picture "UNGE'S WAR" picked up 2 awards for "Best Indigenous film" and "Best costume in a film" at NAFFCA (The African Movie Awards) Michaels eye for details in movies continues to prove it's worth by getting him 2 more awards for "UNGE'S WAR" at GIAMA (Golden Icon Academy Movie Awards) for Best Indigenous Film (Native Language) and Best Cinematography. GuGu E. Michaels has been making North American movies since 1997 and in the year 2009 GuGu E. Michaels decided to venture into African cinema where in less than five years, he's already been called the new era in African cinema.
