Daniel I. Schachter is a filmmaker from Montreal, Canada. In 2008, Schachter wrote his first short film, Three Mothers, which won the Grand Prix at Cours écrire ton court, hosted by the Festival du Nouveau Cinema. The film went on to play dozens of festivals worldwide and picked up several prizes, including the A&E Short Filmmakers Award, Best Short at Les Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois, and honourable mention in Trouville, France. In 2012 Daniel wrote and directed Entre Chien et Loup, starring Monia Chokri. The film played many international festivals, including Rhode Island and Palm Springs. His debut feature film, Pink Lake, co-created with Emily Gan, premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival in 2020. Daniel also writes and records songs under his first and middle names, Daniel Isaiah, and has been releasing albums with Secret City Records and Saint-Cécile since 2010.
