Emmy award winning Producer/Director Joaquim Soares got his first taste of weekly television in the nineties when he worked closely with Hollywood studios to create a Motion Picture news magazine program for foreign language markets in the US and abroad. "Hollywood Today/Hoy" was born and reached over 30 countries in several languages for over 7 years. Languages included English, Spanish, Portuguese, Afrikaans, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin to name a few. Many film related projects followed including the TV specials: "The Making Of - Batman Returns" for Warner Bros, "Momentitos Magicos" and "The making of - A walk in the clouds" for 20th Century Fox. Soares went on to produce & direct many other projects such as; "The Cris Franco Show", Emmy award winning comedy/debate series on KCET; "the entertainment magazine VIP-TV "Desafio Academico" (The Academic Challenge") winner of a Parent's Choice Award, a High School quiz sponsored by McDonalds and Toyota that gave scholarships to inner-city students. Other series include "Mexico De Mis Amores", "Recuerdos De Mi Pais" and "The Edward'O Show".
