Clare grew up in the South of England before moving to London to study. Whilst studying for a degree she took classes with Dorothea Alexander and, having gained her degree, went off and re-trained as an actress. She has worked mainly on stage since and works regularly with TV actor, Robert Gillespie who now runs his own theatre company, Jane Nightwork Productions.
