From Monmouth County, New Jersey, Larry worked as a police dispatcher, special officer and National Park Ranger until beginning his 34 year career with the West Long Branch Police Department. He spent ten years as a police detective and worked his way up through the ranks, retiring in early 2016 as Chief of Police. He had acted in school plays and community theater, but became involved in independent film in 2001 when he was asked to be a technical adviser on a WWII film. The director offered Larry the role of Karl in "Missing Jane". His performance as the tormented anti-Nazi German pilot earned him a nomination for best supporting actor at the SMMASH Film Festival in 2005. Since that time, Larry has portrayed dozens of characters in films, videos and TV projects, including a music video with Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. Paralleling his acting and police careers has been his involvement in historical reenacting. He has participated in reenactments of everything from the American Civil War to the Old West, as well as the first and second World Wars. Larry has assembled his own props and costumes for these periods, using some of them in film, video and TV projects. One director described Larry as having "gravitas" and his ability to convey authority usually places him as the boss, commander and cops of nearly every description. His voice has been used as an emergency broadcast as well as instructional and industrial hosts. Most recently, Larry has appeared in crimes-caught-on-tape series as a law enforcement expert commentator. Larry is married to Susan Marco and has two adult children, both of whom have either appeared in some of his projects or are accomplished actors themselves.
