Barry Reckord came to England around 1950 to study at Cambridge University. His first play, Flesh to a Tiger, was performed at the Royal Court while he was still a student. Reckord wrote other plays for the Royal Court, such as You in Your Small Corner (1962). He has contributed several letter and journal responses to African literary journals, such as Transition.
