Dirk Hermann was born in Castrop-Rauxel and studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse and at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York. Even before he trained as an actor, he worked at the Bochum Schauspielhaus. This was followed by engagements in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Berlin, Basel, Bochum and for TUI Cruises Entertainment on the high seas. Dirk Hermann starred in "Ziemlich beste Freunde" and "Trennung für Feiglinge" in Bremen and worked in Theater an der Rottstr as Jago in Konstanze Kappenstein's Othello. He gained his first cinematic experience in the USA in the anti-war film "Empty", directed by Jared Micah Herman. He appeared on German television and on the big screen as RAF terrorist Werner Hoppe in Uli Edel's Der Baader-Meinhof Komplex and in the leading role of businessman Adolph Dattan in the ZDF / Arte production "Siberia and the Germans". Der Baader-Meinhof Komplex was nominated for an academy award. He starred in the television mini series "Breaking Even" directed by Boris Kunz. Dirk Hermann was on tour with the successful play "Mr. President First "by Stefan Zimmermann, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
