Sound Editor and Re-recording Mixer, Adam Parrish King, grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, spending much of his time painting and drawing, and wandering the nearby Appalachian Mountains. He studied Fine Arts and Art History at the University of Pennsylvania, then went on to receive his MFA in Film Production at the University of Southern California, where he focused on post-production sound. While at USC, Adam wrote, directed, animated, and sound designed a film called "The Wraith of Cobble Hill," which received the Jury Award for Best Short Film at Sundance, SXSW, and the Los Angeles Film Festival, and was short-listed for an Academy Award. For the past eighteen years, Adam has been a sound editor and re-recording mixer on over 45 feature documentary and narrative films, over 25 TV series, and art installations that have premiered at the Getty Museum and the Zentrum fur Kunst in Karlsruhe, Germany. Recently, he has been a sound effects editor for shows including "Fargo," "Better Call Saul," and "Legion," and worked on the sound design and mix for an IMAX nature documentary called "Hidden Pacific." His work on the HBO documentary, "The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling," was nominated for a Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Award, along with his work on the CBS comedy, "Young Sheldon." In 2016, Adam's sound design on the PBS documentary, "EO Wilson - Of Ants and Men" was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Music and Sound. Adam resides in Los Angeles with his teenage daughter, his wife, and his cat, where he continues to paint and draw, and explore the nearby San Gabriel Mountains.
