Sajitha Anuththara

Sajitha Anuththara Anthony, was born in 1991 in Sri Lanka. His passion for arts began at the age of 13 when he first entered the industry of film and theatre in the year 2004. Sajitha is well known in Sri Lanka as an Actor, Dancer and Singer. His father is, Jackson Anthony, an award-winning actor in Sri Lankan and Kollywood cinema. His mother is Kumari Munasinghe, she is also an actress and singer. Sajitha is the youngest in the family. His sister is the eldest sibling, Madhavee Wathsala Anthony, she is a television presenter, actress and singer. His elder brother's name is Ahkila Dhanudhdhara Anthony, he is a television presenter, model and actor. Experiences in Acting; Sajitha first made his public appearance in the all-time favorite children film production "Sooriya Arana" directed by Dr.Somarathne Dissanayake. He was casted to play the lead role. The film received positive reviews and became the highest earning Sri Lankan film of all time. he won the Jury Award Performance in 2005 at the Presidential Awards for the film Sooriya Arana. His second film was named "Kurulu Pihatu" directed by Sumith Kumara in 2006. He was again casted as the main role. In 2008, Sajitha played the main role as Pandukabhaya in Jackson Anthony's film, reported as most expensive, production in that period "Aba". He won a Merit Award for the film "Aba" in 2008 at the 32nd Sarasaviya Awards. In 2016, he played the lead role in a teledrama telecasted in channel Swarnawahini named, "Bohimiyanuwa" a story around radical romance, and won 2 awards for "Best Upcoming Actor" in 2017 at the Raigam Teleawards and Sumathi Awards. In 2018, he appeared in the mega tele series "Kanamadiriyo" which was telecasted in channel ITN. Sajitha has two upcoming films which have not yet been premiered, one, for the lead role in Prasanna Vithanage's new movie "Gaadi" (Children of the Sun) and the other, in Jackson Anthony's new movie "Eka Gei Sokari". Experiences in Dancing; In 2013, Sajitha appeared in Sri Lanka's most majestic dancing reality show, Derana City of Dance - Season 4, winning 1st place in the contest. This contest lasted for 6 months, where he was able to learn various dancing techniques from the island's leading choreographers. The techniques involved; Traditional Sri Lankan Dance, Modern Contemporary and the basics in Latin-American, Ballet and Hip-hop. Experiences in Music; In 2016, Sajitha released his first debut single "Swarnapaliye" featuring Sanuka Wickramasinghe. The song was improvised from the movie "Aba" and embedded the style EDM (Electro-Dance Music) with Sri Lankan folk music. This song hit 2 million views in less than 1-year trending number 1 on YouTube. Early January 2019, he released his second song "Mihirawa Awa", which reached trending number 1 on the second day after its release.
