Introducing Lionel Cornelius: With a smooth, soulful sound that might be described as New Age Motown, Lionel Cornelius is a seasoned artist on the cusp of musical superstardom... and you're invited to come along and share his amazing journey. Born into a musical family, Lionel's early influences included Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose, whose hits "Treat Her Like a Lady" and "Too Late to Turn Back Now" topped the charts in the 1970s. But his evolving style as a contemporary artist has been shaped by his spirituality that can be attributed to both church influences and a genuine joy for life and love. He's a storyteller of life's passions, with a unique sound that's both fresh and familiar, sensuous and sublime. Performance has always come naturally to this Florida native, who has made his home in Charlotte, North Carolina for the past two decades. His diverse career has included roles on both television and stage, in addition to accomplishments as a vocalist, songwriter, instrumentalist, and music and video producer. Since 2001, he has operated Lionel Cornelius Entertainment, an arts and entertainment consulting firm. He's widely valued for his creative vision and keen attention to musical detail. Lionel's career was elevated when he won the National Association of Realtors® Got Talent contest in 2012, followed by a nomination for a 2013 Carolina Music Award for Best Male R&B Vocalist for his debut single "Seriously in Love." In 2014, Lionel released his freshman album "Intimate Details" in collaboration with instrumentalist, engineer and arranger Mark "Magic" Stallings. His accolades include #1 solo artist in Charlotte on ReverbNation and an internet following of more than 300,000 dedicated fans. Lionel is currently writing and working on his next album "Black and White" which is slated to drop in 2017 and is in talks with a major recording label. Armed with multi-genre experience, professional maturity, and an unbridled excitement, this powerful performer is more than ready for the Next Big Thing.
