Year after year Elvis sold out shows in every city and there was no stopping the impact Rock & Roll was having on our nation and the world. In 1977, Elvis died just days before the launch of his next tour. Shortly before his death, Elvis asked Tom to replace Colonel Parker as his manager. Tom rode in the third car in Elvis's funeral procession. Tom turned down The Beatles and Michael Jackson for exclusive management only because they both asked Tom to drop all his other acts. The Beach Boys, The Moody Blues, etc. He said in separate conversations, "I can manage you and my other artists. I keep my family of artist friends." And he would have managed them all well! Who else could ever say that? His example became the shining light for Lawrence to follow! Near the end of Tom's life, Lawrence worked with Tom's son, Donnie (who had his own Platinum and Gold Records) in Tom's office. He said to us as he knew he was dying from cancer, "Carry On The Tradition!" So, after Tom passed, Lawrence and Donnie agreed on two things. The project was sidelined due to investor ignorance. Lawrence then cut the project loose letting Mic Fleetwood know to take the Warner Brothers deal which then became the "The Dance" Album and world tour. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dance_%28Fleetwood_Mac_album% 29 once again proving that some investors should listen to and trust the experts. 1998 - 2000.
